NAIROBI
Nairobi is the capital and largest city ofKenya. It is famous for having the Nairobi National Park, the world's only game reserve found within a major city. The city and its surrounding area also form Nairobi County, whose current governor is Evans Kidero and Deputy Governor is Jonathan Mueke.
SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
The Samburu National Reserve is a game reserve on the banks of theEwaso Ng'iro river in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The park is 165 km² in size and is situated 350 kilometers from Nairobi. It ranges in altitude from 800 to 1230m above sea level.Geographically, it is located in Samburu County.
LAKE NAKURU
It lies to the south of Nakuru, in the rift valley of Kenya and is protected by Lake Nakuru National Park. Thelake's abundance of algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore. Other birds also flourish in the area, as do warthogs, baboons and other large mammals.
MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
The Maasai Mara National Reserve (MMNR) covers some 1,510 km2 (583 sq mi) in south-western Kenya. It is the northern-most section of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, which covers some 25,000 km2 (9,700 sq mi) in Tanzania and Kenya.
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we will meet, greet and brief on the safari then start your journey to Samburu Game reserve, a land characterized by rugged terrains dominated by dramatic hills with acacia and Doum palm trees along the Ewaso Nyiro River, the lifeline of the beautiful arid land. Thorn scrub rises against a backdrop of distant hills and the great red table Ololokwe Mountain.
Arrive in time for lunch followed by afternoon game drive. Samburu is within the lands of the colorful Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai, and is home to a number of wildlife species rarely found elsewhere in Kenya: Gravy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk, Somali Ostrich and Beisa Oryx, all found only north of the equator. Have dinner and overnight stay on full board.
Day 2: Full day at Samburu
You will spend a full day at Samburu Intrepids with game drives and activities including optional visit to Samburu villages. All meals at Samburu Intrepids Club.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast depart Samburu for Lake Nakuru national park passing through Thompson’s falls and many curio shops where you can test your bargaining power. Arrive at Lake Nakuru famous for millions of flamingos( The concentration of the birds have decreased due to rise of water level)and plains that are home to Black and white Rhinos, lion, leopard, and large herds of waterbuck including buffaloes. Enjoy lunch then followed by afternoon game drive. Visit the baboon cliff, one of the highest points on the hills surrounding the lake with stunning views and a picnic site where you will enjoy the scenery. Have dinner and overnight stay on Full board.
Day 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast, enjoy an en route game drive as you proceed with the journey to Masai Mara Game reserve arriving in time for lunch. Have an afternoon at leisure before you embark on evening game drive where you will experience wildlife in its pristine environment, and savor the rustic luxury at the Sarova Mara game camp.
Masai Mara prides itself of large prides of lions and other cat’s family species like cerval cat, cheetah, leopard including herbivores like Topi, hartebeest, Oribi, Grant’s and Thompson gazelle, buffalo, waterbuck vervet monkey as well as many other mammals, reptiles and amphibian species.
Day 5 & 6: Two full days at Masai Mara
Spend two days at Sarova Mara game camp. Enjoy different activities among them game drives, bird watching, wellness, Optional hot air balloon rides and much more.
Day 7: Departure
Depart after breakfast, travel back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Have a farewell dinner with your driver guide and later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight.
