SHILLONG :

Shillong was a small village until 1864, when it became the new civil station of the Khasi and Jaintia hills. It remained the summer capital of Eastern Bengal and Assam for many years. In 1874, on the formation of Assam as a Chief Commissioner's Province, it was chosen as the capital of the new administration.

KAZIRANGA :

The park is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. Kaziranga is recognized as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International for conservation of avifaunal species.  The park celebrated its centennial in 2005 after its establishment in 1905 as a reserve forest.

CHERRAPUNJEE:

Cherrapunjee and Charrapunji) is a subdivisional town in the East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is credited as being the wettest place on Earth, but nearby Mawsynram currently holds that record. Cherrapunji still holds the all-time record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year: it received 9,300 mm (366 in) in July 1861 and 26,461 mm (1,041.75 in) between 1 August 1860 and 31 July 1861.

Cherrapunji is the traditional capital of the Nongkhlaw hima (Khasi tribal chieftainship constituting a petty state) known as Sohra or Churra.

DAY 01: GUWAHATI AIRPORT – SHILLONG (130 KMS / 3 ½ hrs drive):

Meet & greet on arrival at Guwahati airport & transfer to Shillong. Enroute visit Umium Lake. Check in Hotel. Overnight in Shillong

DAY 02: SHILLONG – MWALLYNNONG– SHILLONG (95 KMs / 2 ½ hrs-One way):

 After breakfast excursion to Mwallynnong. Later return back to Shillong. Overnight in Shillong.

DAY 03: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE (60 Kms / 2 hrs):

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee. Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh kalikai falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco park etc. Later check in hotel. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

DAY 04: CHERRAPUNJEE – KAZIRANGA (375 KMs / 8-9HRS):

After breakfast drive to Kaziranga. Check in at hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Kaziranga.                      

Day 05:  KAZIRANGA:

Early morning go for Elephant ride in the park. (Elephant riding time: 1st Ride- 5.15-6.15 AM; 2nd ride: 6.30-7.30 am) Return for Breakfast. After breakfast free for leisure or you can visit tea plantations, rubber plantations. In the afternoon Jeep safari in the Central Range. Overnight at Kaziranga.

DAY 06: KAZIRANGA – GIBBON (JORHAT) – KAZIRANGA:

After breakfast excursion to Gibbon wildlife sanctuary (120 Kms / 2 ½ hrs). Trek inside the sanctuary. Later back to Kaziranga. Overnight at Kaziranga.

DAY 07: KAZIRANGA – GUWAHATI AIRPORT (250 Kms / 5 hrs):

After breakfast drop at Guwahati airport. TOUR ENDS HERE.
