- Passport: Original Passport with validity of minimum six months from the date of return to India and minimum two blank page for visa stamp for Single or Double Entry Visa and should be valid for 1 year for Multiple Entries visa. Attach all your old passports (if any)
- China Visa Application Form: One visa application form duly filled online and signed by the applicant. The Link is http://www.visaforchina.org.
- Photo Specification: One recent passport size colored photograph with white background and 80% face coverage (Size: 35mm x 45mm). Photograph should not be more than 3 months old, scanned /stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas.
- Original Covering Letter from applicant on company's letter head stating applicant’s name, designation in the organization, purpose of visit, expenses to be borne by, contact information of the inviting company along with visa validity and type of entry addressed to – The Visa Officer, Embassy of China, New Delhi. The Letter must state the date of entry and exit from China. If the passenger has travelled to China earlier the covering letter must mention in details the purpose of all the last visits with dates and places of visit and purpose. The Covering letter must mention the passport no. of the applicant. This is a mandatory requirement.
- Invitation / Notification Letter: Clear Invitation Letter from Chinese host / inviting Company on its letter head with complete address & contact number, duly signed with round seal & signatory’s name and designation. The invitation letter may be in the form of fax, photocopy or computer printout, but the consular officer may require the applicant to submit the original of the invitation letter. An issuer of invitation letter who is an individual in China should also provide a photocopy of his/her Chinese ID. The letter should be addressed to "The Visa Officer, Embassy of China, New Delhi" or Visa Notification Letter in their prescribed format arranged by the Chinese Host. The Invitation from China must have the date of entry and exit for China and signature should be in Chinese. Digital and Signatures in language other than Chinese is not acceptable.
- If necessary, the consular officer may require the applicant to provide other proof documents or supplementary materials, or require an interview with the applicant.
The consular officer will decide on whether or not to issue the visa and on its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of specific conditions of the applicant

- For 3rd. Country Nationals other than Indians and Chinese the Visa Office wants Official Letter from the Embassy of the applicant or General Counselor duly signed with official stamp stating the following in case the passenger has come to India on Business visa.
- a) Who the passenger is (identity).
b) The passenger belongs to which place.
c) What is the occupation of the passenger?
d) The reason to go to China.
3rd Country Nationals on a temporary multiple entry visits to India can apply for Single Entry visa.
3rd Country Nationals on Student/Employment visa can apply for Double Entry visa valid for 6 months if their Indian visa is valid for more than 6 months or Single Entry visa valid for 3 months if the Indian visa is valid for less than 6 months.
3rd Country Nationals can apply for Multiple Entry visa valid for 6 months if they have permanent residence for India.

The Embassy may accept applications as Urgent ONLY if the intended travel is within 4 working days from the date of application, air tickets are enclosed and the travel dates are clearly mentioned in the Covering Letter

The Covering Letter must mention the booking made for accommodation covering the period of stay in China and day to day planned itinerary. If the passenger has travelled to China earlier the covering letter must mention in detail the purpose of all the last visits with dates and places of visit. The Covering letter must mention the passport no. of the applicant besides the date of entry and exit from China. This is a mandatory requirement.
- Day to Day Itinerary on the letterhead of the Travel Agency.
- Hotel Booking Confirmations made for the period of stay in China with complete postal address of the hotels with their respective phone numbers, fax numbers and Email addresses
- Personal Original Bank Statement of last six months with a minimum balance of Rs 1, 50,000 with Bank seal and signature of authorized signatory of the bank on each page. The Bank statement must have the complete name and residence address of the passenger.
- If visiting relatives an invitation letter from their relatives in China and photocopies of their relatives' Residence Permits in China. If Relative is a Chinese National passport copy and ID copy of the Chinese National is to be enclosed. All efforts need to be made to establish relationship between the invite and invitee.
- If visiting Friends Invitation Letter from their friends in China and photocopies of their friends' Residence Permits in China. If Friend is a Chinese National passport copy and ID copy of the Chinese National is to be enclosed.
For 3rd. Country Nationals other than Indians and Chinese the Visa Office wants Official Letter from the Embassy of the applicant or General Counselor duly signed with official stamp stating the following in case the passenger has come to India on Tourist visa.
